The toss in the second one-day international between the Proteas and India was delayed due to wet patches in the outfield at Kingsmead, in Durban, on Sunday.

Heavy rain over the past month meant the water table was far higher than usual in the city, with the standing puddles around the field, particular around the square and on the boundaries, not drying sufficiently.

It was overcast on Saturday and similar conditions were around on Sunday.

Another inspection was due at 9.50am with umpires Shaun George and Richard Illingworth hoping for a 10.30am start.
