The 27-year-old joined coach Benni McCarthy’s side on Monday morning.
“Cape Town City is delighted to announce the signing of Greek defender Giannis Potouridis. The left footed, 27 year old is highly experienced and joins the Citizens to strengthen the defensive ranks,” read a statement from City.
City have the worst defensive record in the Absa Premiership, having conceded 15 goals in nine matches played so far and McCarthy has been vocal about the need to reinforce his defence.
He wanted the club to re-sign former captain Robyn Johannes, but club boss John Comitis decided against the move.
