The Cheetahs were forced into several personnel changes ahead of their encounter against the Sharks in Durban on Saturday.

In the most significant change to the starting line-up, Jean Cook moves into the No 8 jersey for the injured Boom Prinsloo – who is out with a groin injury. Youngster Neil Claassen moves from the bench into the recently vacated No 7 jumper.

Electrifying flyhalf Willie du Plessis gets another chance to impress after Elgar Watts was ruled out with a knee grievance.  Du Plessis has the potential to tear defences apart, but we will have to shore up some tactical aspects of his game. His goal kicking will also have to be on point if he is to become a regular in the line-up.

Prop Luan de Bruin is also sidelined with concussion. Dolph Botha has been drafted in to the starting line-up as cover.

Recent Bulls import Clayton Blommetjies also gets his chance to thrill from fullback after his recent recovery from injury.

The bench also holds some promise, with former UCT flanker Vincent Jobo and Shimla flyhalf Pieter-Steyn de Wet no doubt eager to delight the Bloemfontein crowd.

Cheetahs: Clayton Blommetjies,  Rayno Benjamin,  Francois Venter,  Joubert Engelbrecht,  Raymond Rhule, Willie du Plessis, Sarel Pretorius, Jean Cook, Neil Claassen, Tienie Burger, Francois Uys,  Carl Wegner, Dolph Botha, Torsten van Jaarsveld (captain), Kevin Stevens.

Bench: Abraham le Roux, George Marich, Henco Venter, Vincent Jobo, Shaun Venter, Pieter-Steyn de Wet, JP du Plessis.
