Springbok and Stormers loose forward Schalk Burger has been placed in doubt to feature in the Capetonians last Super Rugby game against the Cheetahs at Newlands on Saturday before the June international Test window.

Burger picked up an ankle injury during the Stormers 17-13 loss to the Bulls at Loftus last weekend and was pulled from the Stormers training on Monday.

Burger will be given until Thursday to get over the injury otherwise either Sikhumbuzo Notshe or Rynhardt Elstadt will move up to flank with Nizaam Carr being moved to No 8 – the position Burger filled at Loftus last weekend.

Burger is expected to be named in the 31-man Bok training squad on Saturday due to be announced soon after the completion of the Stormers and Cheetahs encounter.

The Stormers in the meantime should however welcome back centre and regular captain Juan de Jongh who was withdrawn from the Loftus match due to a calf injury.
