The EP project titled Mpambano embodies a Traditional Spiritual sound that encompasses his journey as a spiritual healer and prophet, seeking to tell the message of hope and transformation.

Ntsikelelo Colossa Aka Ntsika Rise drops Mpambano EP.

Through the EP, he steps away from soul and afro pop to solely focus on ‘making music for the spirit’ – which he says he has been yearning for since launching in the music career.

“Mpambano speaks about a transformation that happens in one’s life, something out of the ordinary, a sudden change that when it comes to you, you become found and know your belonging.

“It is like a turning point, it doesn’t inform anyone that it is coming, it can be through the next person but it comes to make you change,” Ntsika Rise elaborates.

The three track EP features songs like Gogo Wam and Webabe, all infused with drums, spiritual chants and instrumental pieces offering an eye into sacred music.

The EP and musical transition took about four years to fully evolve into a clear direction, Ntsika told Urban News.

“This type of music uses different elements which provide the required flow for movement when we dance and particularly for trance,” he explains.

“I decided to do that is true to who I am, without having to put on a character. It took four years to go this direction because at the time I was in doubt if people would receive this kind of music.

“I needed to be sure and work on myself and my growth. At the beginning of the year, I began conceptualising on how to tell this story and these emotions.”

Ntsika Rise said while it was different to what supporters have known him for, he wants the new sound to bring healing and hope to listeners.

“The EP is about a journey, the messaging is about hope, it’s about change in life. I want them to be transformed by the music, allowing them to seek their own healing.

Consume it and receive it with an open mind,” he continued.

#Mpambano EP drops on all digital platforms on 7 July.
