It is set to give an opportunity to talented people who want to expose their talent to the world thanks to the crew at Rock Apple Fashion and Ithemba Foundation.

Talent Expose is expected to return to home soil on July 8 at Doornkop Community Hall (Snakepark) Block 4, after seeing a major success at its first instalment last year.

The event by the Non-Profit Organization is part of its yearly work aimed at empowering and educating the community while fighting against social issues faced by young people through the use of performing art.

“The reception from participants and community was positive and made us consider doing the show annually.

“We had so many young people who showcased their talents on stage and it was an awesome sight,” said Gift Applegreen, founder of the Talent Expose.

The second annual talent show will boast between 20 and 30 participants from surrounding areas who will participate under five different categories such as dance, drama, fashion modelling, music and poetry.

The event will also feature local clothing brands once again, with Black Panther, Danko, The Spontaneous Royalty as some of the favourites who will showcase exclusive designs on the runway.

“Talent Expose aims to use different talents to spread a message to all young dreamers in Mzansi. Our artists dedicate their lives to inspire and motivate young dreamers that it is possible to be successful in life without being engaged in wrong things such as crime and drugs,” Applegreen said, sharing his excitement about the event.

Applegreen added that some of the funds raised from the talent show will buy pairs of school shoes so that they can donate to an NPO named ‘Put A Smile’ which is doing a school shoe drive to put a smile to the young ones and make education fun for them.

“The reason we want to help ‘Put A Smile’ is because we participated in some of their drives.

“We were so inspired to see some of their work and programmes for young people and how they impact the lives of young people. We have the same purpose with their organisation which is to help the youth to have a great future.”

Applegreen urged anyone who would like to support or participate in the work they do to reach the organisation via email mzansiexposetalent@gmail.com or contact them on 073 157 0014 / 084 386 2846 OR via Facebook on their page Rock Apple Fashion.
