The Amapiano song which dropped in April features Hip Hop artist, Kay-E, Blacktablet and in house producer, Neasy Beatz collaborating to pay homage to the Kwaito star.

The four min groovy track samples the hit tune Ghetto Scandalous by Zola, Amu and Kaybee.

Let’s Rock U offers listeners a mixture of Amapiano, combined with Kwaito like vocals and Tsotsi-Taal, offering a melodic-fusion that transcends space and time. The song is also laced with a touch of Sgija, a new Pretoria sound making waves.

“The production of the song is different, most Amapiano songs are almost similar but we wanted to differ slightly.

“I wanted people who will give me a different flow, but at the same time be able to marry one another vocally and lyrically.

“Kay E has got that kasi lingo, style musically at the same and Blacktablet, signed in our label adds a dope feel,” said Tumelo Mokoka, founder of Let’s Rock U.

Mokoka, who runs the record label in Dobsonville said Lova was a versatile track which showcased the abilities of the featured artists in maintaining the power and song writing ability of Zola7.

He said legends were not recongised enough in the country and this was a step in treasuring those who paved the way in the arts scene in Soweto.

“We thought of giving him his flowers while he is still alive and recognising his contribution to the music industry and people’s lives.

“Zola7 has done so much for our country and with the latest news surrounding the artist, we could do much but thought this is the best way we can contribute and show him that he is loved and appreciated,” added Mokoka.

Let’s Rock U currently has two artists signed but said it was looking forward to identifying and collaborating with more home grown local talent across Soweto.
