Puff Nesca talks new banger, ahead of EP release

Upcoming New Age Kwaito artist, Puff Nesca from Roodeport returns with the latest release of a new single, Ra Itolokisa, proving that the once popular South African 90’s sound of Kwaito music is still alive.

Born Boineelo Seokwang, Puff Nesca is cementing himself as one of the budding artists to look out for, showcasing his versatile and unique style.

The song comes after the success of his previous single titled Jomo, where he celebrates soccer greats like Jomo Sono, Portia Modise and other SA football legends.

His song, which debuted in March, loosely translates as “we’re having fun,” draw on its combination of Amapiano and Kwaito sound featuring Pretorian DJ and producer Louis Lunch and fellow upcoming artist Buddy Lenyora.

“I worked with the guys from Pretoria, that’s where Amapiano originated from so it’s a track that is to get people in a party mood. It takes me back to my younger years during the era when groups of friends would fill up VW Caravelle minibuses and head to parks and resorts for a good time,” Puff Nesca said.

The 33-year-old described his sound as ‘authentic South African dancing sound.

“The people that inspired me are the likes of Kabelo Mabalane, Zola, and I had been doing music long before, but decided to go professionally at 30 because I wanted to do it when I was comfortable and ready for the industry. My music is about everyday love, the things that South Africans experience.”

The release of the single sets the tone for his upcoming six track E.P, Titled half man, where he has worked with executive producer, Killo Tronix and Co-producer Mzidou.

“I was excited to have him hop on the song. It was unbelievable.

“The fact that he was humble to say as big as he is, and want to work with an upcoming artist truly has been a humbling experience,” an excited Puff Nesca recalls. “I had to send him the song with my vocals already so he could get the feel of the song and he loved it and sent his vocals over to us.”

The E.P is expected to drop next month.
