Let’s celebrate World Teachers’ Day!

Every year on October 5, World Teachers' Day is observed to honour all the incredibly dedicated teachers worldwide.

Today is World Teachers Day, and we are celebrating teachers!

On World Teachers’ Day, teachers’ services and contributions to education are recognised, as is their role and importance in the development of students and society.

Teachers’ Day is an occasion that honours teachers and attempts to resolve some of the issues concerning their profession to attract the brightest young minds to this profession.

Teachers are symbols of knowledge. They are among the most powerful forces in fighting for quality education and development.

They provide awareness and enlightenment. They provide wisdom to their students. They teach children the real skills of living a successful life.

Despite being the true pillars of a successful nation, they are sometimes not rewarded with the warm gratitude that they deserve, and their status and working conditions continue to be a source of concern.

How to participate in World Teachers’ Day

With school holidays in full swing, participating in World Teachers’ Day can be tricky.

Here’s how your child can still express their gratitude to their teacher:

  • Let your child write a heartfelt poem of admiration for their teacher and send it to them via e-mail.
  • Have your child write a Haiku poem for their teacher on what they’ve learned this year and why they’re thankful to be in their teacher’s class.
  • Record a video message from your child and send it to their teacher via Whatsapp.
  • Send your child’s teacher a virtual spa gift card to thank them for all they do.
  • Write an e-mail to your child’s teacher expressing your gratitude for all they’ve done this year.
  • Wear red today and share that you’re wearing red to recognise teachers on social media.
