The Concours of Elegance showcases rare Voisin

A unique art deco Voisin C-27 Aérosport will be displayed at this years Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace.

The Voisin was built by Gabriel Voisin, the C-27 Aérosport. After World War 1 Voison started to design automobiles using aluminium to keep the weight down. It is said that he built about 11 000 cars but only 150 of these cars remain. The Voisin design is beautifully aerodynamic with a roof that could slide backward to open and using its own motor. The interior, as you can see from this picture – in black and white is quite modern and even abstract in a sense. The Voisin was powered by a 3.0-litre engine producing some 104hp (77kW). The gearbox was a four-speed which included two overdrive gears and reverse. Source: Newspress
