Lexus Classics concert goes digital

The national lockdown, a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, has seen open-air gatherings of more than 50 or 60 people being banned and as such has resulted in many events and music shows being postponed or worse, cancelled.

Refusing the same fate, the Lexus Classics concert has embraced innovative technologies and accelerates into the digital age.

Although music fans and concertgoers would have attended the spectacle at the Sun Arena in Menlyn, Gauteng like they did for the last five years. The 2020 event which is taking place on 31 July will be hosted online and can be enjoyed in the comfort of the spectator’s homes. Artist included in the line-up includes; Timothy Moloi, Corlea, Boki, Demi Lee Moore, Siki Jo-An, Monique Steyn and Ruhan du Toit, all of which will be accompanied by a mini symphony orchestra.

“It will be stunning; it’s just like the original Lexus Classics, just a digital version. We will once again sing the greatest hits of legendary artists of all time,” said Demi Lee Moore backstage during the recent recording.

A variety of hits will once again ring in the ears of the listeners including the Simon & Garfunkel hit “Sound of Silence” which is performed by Ruhan du Toit as well as the classic hit “Wicked Games” sung by Corlea and Adele’s “Hello” performed by Demi Lee Moore. The concert will take place on the stayIN / INbly concerts streaming service which was launched by Coleske Artists and Computicket at end of April 2020. After more than 40 successful concerts hosted on the platform, the 2020 Lexus Classics concert will be produced on the service and tickets are available at R120 on Computicket at stayin.computicket.com

Lexus and Toyota owners, however, will be able to enjoy the show for free but only if they have downloaded the MyLexus app or the MyToyota app. Owners can download the app that is relevant to them and register their vehicle on the app’s ‘garage after which they can access the show via a link available under the social tab.
