What is new on the Mitsubishi Triton Xtreme?

Mitsubishi has recently unveiled the Triton Xtreme which comes in the form of a 4×4 Double Cab bakkie. The limited-edition vehicle incorporates a variety of styling changes which results in an adventurous look.

Upfront the Triton gets a new black bumper and grill as well as a bonnet protector and headlight covers. Furthermore, customers can expect door handle cups to protect the paint, window visors and roof rack supports. Transforming the entire theme of the vehicle is the 4×4 decals and Xtreme branding and is bolstered by a Kekosport style bar finished in black. Mitsubishi also added a Bosal tow bar, A-line Hazard mag wheels finished in black, Pirelli Scorpion All-Terrain tyres and a fender flare kit.

The load box now comes finished with a rubberized finish which not only protects the vehicle but also anything the owner would like to load on to the back. Further protecting the load is a tonneau cover that comes as standard and in combination with the tailgate which also features Ezydown dampers and a locking mechanism to keep items safe prying eyes and the elements.

Occupants benefit from the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible infotainment system. The system also has extra features to mirror smart devices and allows the users to make and receive calls, send and receive messages, and listen to their favourite downloaded music or get guidance from their navigation app. Also new to the interior is a sport automatic shift knob to match the adventure theme. The Triton Xtreme retains its active and passive safety systems which include Hill Descent Control, Active Stability and Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors and a 7-airbag system.

Under the bonnet is the capable and familiar 2.4-litre MIVEC turbo diesel engine which mated to the six-speed automatic gearbox and Mitsubishi’s Super Select II 4WD system, produces 133 kW and 430 N.m of torque and claims an average fuel consumption figure of 8.3L/100km.

The Mitsubishi Triton Xtreme comes standard with a three-year/100 000km warranty, a five-year/90 000 km Service Plan and five-year/unlimited-kilometre Roadside Assistance.
