The trendiest hairstyling competition in the continent-Sofn’free Hair Xperts Masters Challenge this year, brings bigger, inventive and more extravagant highlights. Seeking the most innovative talent in South Africa, the search for Mzansi’s hair genius is on.
One of the talented contestants based in Gauteng, who is now one of the finalists for this extravaganza, is the talented hairstylist, Nhlanhla Nxumalo, originally from Kwa-Zulu Natal. Nxumalo said that he came to Gauteng to study beauty and hair more than a decade ago.
“I started entering hair competitions back in 2007 learning and growing, while running my own salon on the side, which extremely did well.

“Being one of the Gauteng finalists gives me a great fulfilment because the competition was really tough but I still made it. I really want to win this competition but what is more important to me is getting exposure,” Nxumalo said.
Nxumalo is well known in Ennerdale, Lenasia, Lawley as well as Soweto as one of the best stylists and he says that winning this competition will motivate him to do more and flourish. He said what he needs from his fans is the support in a form of voting.
“This is a great opportunity any hairstylist wouldn’t want to miss, so I grabbed it with both hands and will do my level best to make Gauteng proud,” said Nxumalo.
