Gauteng Modelling Academy (GAMSA) will be hosting auditions for aspiring Soweto models at David Pine Hall in Dobsonville on April 23.

According to the event organiser Fishy Martin, the event’s objective is to empower young girls with the necessary knowledge and skills to become successful ambassadors for their township.

He said, “We want to inspire the youth to get involved with community work and projects at their schools and for underprivileged kids from Soweto.

“The auditions are open to both males and females between the ages three to 20 years of age. Participants are requested to dress in casual wear and the ladies should also wear high-heeled shoes.”

Martin said that shortlisted contestants will participate in the Face of Platinum to be hosted in Rustenburg at Sun City Casino.

He said that the Face of Platinum pageant will take place on May 5. Auditions start at 3 pm until late at the David Pine Hall in Dobsonville Extension Three.

Last year, one of their contestants, Cytrus Kamaar won the Miss Valley of Waves beauty pageant held at Sun City. Another GAMSA model, Analiswa Mthembu won the Queen of South Africa Beauty pageant held in Pretoria in June last year.
