Ladies are ‘Fresh’ when it comes to Kasi rap

Girls take on the world.

Kasi rappers are making way to female performers in this traditionally male-dominated arena. Dynamite She Rap from Bramfischerville hopes to change the game by adding their unique flavour to rap.

Lead singer Gugu “Gu Squared” Langa, Lindo “Preishiii” Molefe and Puleng “Miss B” Leshole are three aspiring artists who have been making waves at the hip-hop sessions hosted in Bramfischerville.

Langa said, “We have realised that Kasi Rap music is a largely male dominated industry, but this it is the time women claimed our rightful place in this industry.”

The trio has released two singles under local label Mic Cracker Records titled Better run and Babotse.

Langa explained the inspiration behind the tracks, “In Babotse, we are talking about us being the first female Kasi rap group in our township and on Better run, we are expressing our feelings and introducing ourselves to our fans.”

Dynamite She Rap will be releasing their full album early next year under Mic Cracker Records which promises to be a great hit. People interested in booking the group can contact Gugu Langa on 074 621 3516 or 074 621 3516
