Model aims to capture double

Talk about made for modelling.

A modelling career comes with a lot; it’s not just about standing around and looking pretty. There is a lot of work put into it, such as charity work and attending workshops and a whole host of similar community initiatives.

Any girl can be a part of a beauty pageant, but it takes a passionate model to take part in two beauty pageant campaigns.

Naeema Isaacs, a 20-year-old girl, whose modelling career started 10 years ago started modelling at her school fun day. Talk about made for modelling, at her runway debut on stage, she was offered a contract at a modelling agency called Espoir Models.

She spent three years of her modelling career at the agency. Espoir SA is a Further Education and Training Centre in the fields of modelling, beauty and personal development.

Subsequent to her stint at Espoir, Isaacs moved to Figures Models participated in the Eldos top model for Armageddon Dance Crew, claiming second spot. In 2015, she travelled to the United States where she was given an opportunity to grace the ramp in New York.

In the same year, Isaacs was one of the delegates in the Miss Soweto and made it to the top six. In 2016, she entered the Miss Exclusive and was crowned the winner.

She has twice entered the Miss South Africa pageant and missed the cut, but this has not deterred her from pursuing her passion as a model.

She is now a delegate in two campaigns which are the Miss Jozi and the Miss Gauteng pageants.

She volunteers at the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, work she has done over a one-year period from 2016 to 2017.

In addition to this, she assists at c in Extension Six, where she teaches young girls about their bodies and how to respect it. She is also part of the Glitter Effect where the team help out students who cannot afford banquet attire and accessories.

Isaacs needs help from the community in order to make it through to the next round of both campaigns.
