Mzansi’s Music Legends to Get the Smirnoff Raga Bolo Finals Party Poppin’

Everyone’s invited to the national finals of the 2017 Smirnoff Raga Bolo Championship.

Everyone’s invited to the national finals of the 2017 Smirnoff Raga Bolo Championship, taking place from 10 am on July 8 at the Soweto Cricket Oval in Gauteng.

Over and above all the action on the pitch, fans can meet and snap selfies with local soccer celebs and get down to the hottest House, Hip Hop and Kwaito beats, brought to you by the best local artists.

Fresh from winning two South African Music Awards (SAMAs), the boys from Black Motion will be bringing their signature mix of drumming and DJing to rev up the crowd.

Fans can jam to tracks from their latest album, Rainbow EP, as well as their new single Lalela.

Rap icon Kwesta is being recognised around the world. He recently opened for T.I. in Atlanta during the final show of his American tour and won an armload of SAMAs.

Plus, his anthem, Ngud’ has gone five-times platinum. On Saturday, he will be spitting the rhymes that have made him shine.

Mixing it up on the ones and twos to make the party move will be DJ Kent. He will, no doubt, be dropping banging beats from his Evolution X album and will hopefully have a few surprises up his sleeve too.

Kwaito king, Thebe, will be amping up the event with hits like Lenyora, Bula Boot, and Sengifikile.

Having played alongside DJs like Vinny da Vinci, Fresh and Glen Lewis, DJ 2kza’s vocal house music is famous for moving the masses with its sing-along beats. Best of all is when he adds a touch of old school Kwaito and Hip Hop to take the party to the next level.

With a reputation for rocking crowds, DJ Tira will be supplying the freshest sounds to make the Oval shake. Over the past few weeks, he has been dropping hot hits on social media and may even play a few at the finals.

Famous for making radio listeners dance, Sphectacula and DJ Naves are guaranteed to do the same on Saturday.

SA’s hottest female Hip-Hop DJ and VJ, Ms Cosmo, will also be stirring things up behind the decks.

She has made her mark on the continent’s music scene and has even opened for international artists such as Chris Brown, Kanye West, D’Banj and 2 Chainz.

Hip Hop legend, DJ Hudson, has enjoyed an interesting career with highlights like being named the official DJ for the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, playing at the Miss World 2008 after party and opening for stars like Trey Songs and Lil Wayne. Now he can add playing for the crazy crowd at the finals to his list.

The Panache Boyz will have the party popping when they bring the dopest House beats to the finals. Fans of their unique sound will get to enjoy favourites like Angel, Shooting Stars, and Dreamers.

“Whether you want to back amajita as they battle it out to be crowned the 2017 Smirnoff Raga Bolo Champions, get down to banging beats, or just have fun with your friends, the Finals is THE place to be,” says Kyle Lesch, Marketing Manager for Smirnoff.
