Topnotch Creatives is all about creative concepts for SMME’s

27-year-old still believes there's room for new talent in the creative industry.

Many might say that the arts are very saturated and can’t be penetrated easily, but Lehlohonolo Thipanyane- owner of Topnotch Creatives- begs to differ.

He believes that being innovative is the main key to ensuring that one enters and stays in the creative industry.

‘’If you are in the creative industry the most important tool and the key is having innovative strategies, you must always reinvent your brand. It’s an ever-changing space and you need to understand the trends and set your own trends as well,’’ he said.

Topnotch Creatives is a sales and marketing company that provides creative solutions to businesses and brands. Their services include Sales and Marketing, Brand Awareness, and Brand Management.

“I realised that a lot of Sales and Marketing companies mainly target mainstream upper-class and urban middle-class market, which lead to a gap in the market share for Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME’s) targeting a lower and middle-class black market, this is what led to the establishment of Topnotch Creatives,” said 27-year-old Thipanyane.

“Having platforms like social media has led to most of the today’s businesses and brands moving into the digital space. It is very vital for all businesses and brands to understand the importance of branding.”

According to Thipanyane, the company is doing well, especially now that they have moved into the digital marketing sphere.

The challenge he faced, in the beginning, was attaining the best location to set up his business. He finally found it at the Builder’s Box at the Soweto Theatre.

“It was difficult to find the perfect office space where I’ll be able to have access to the internet at all times, be able to do my admin work and meet up with clients,” said Thipanyane.

When asked about his future goals for his company, Thipanyane stated that he wanted to focus mostly on branding for SMME’s.

Topnotch Creatives will have an activation for youth which will include activities such as sports, art, music, exhibitions and indigenous games on June 16. It will be hosted at Mafori-Mphahlele High School.
