Moroka North born beauty Matsi Menu makes it to finals

Moroka North born beauty well on her way to getting the crown of virtue.

Matsi Menu has done it! She has safely secured a spot as a Top 25 finalist at the upcoming Mrs South Africa pageant. The announcement was made at Mrs South Africa CANSA Gala dinner held at Emperor’s Palace.

Menu said the journey to the finals has taught her to get out of her comfort zone and open up more.

“As a semi-finalist, I was forced to get out of my comfort zone. I had to learn to approach people instead of the norm of being approached.

“I have grown so much and learned so much in such a short period of time. The process helped me think out of the box, be brave and do things you would never imagine in a million years. I had fun doing that, now I’m ready for round two.”

“If there is anything that I could have done differently it would have to be stressing less. I almost missed out on the fun that the journey had. As a finalist I’m definitely going to take in all the fun and rest in God,” said Menu.

Being a mother, wife, businesswoman, and model can’t be easy and time management is of the essence.  Add preparing for one of the biggest pageants and you have one stressful situation. The Moroka North born beauty, however, makes it look effortless.

“The journey has been awesome and to prepare I had to do things differently than before. I had to wear different hats in one day and make every second count.

“On the family side, I have a supportive and hands on husband, he is super amazing. Business and Mrs South Africa I work on a schedule, it keeps me sane,” explained Menu. “I’m humbled and grateful to make it to the finals. I look forward to making memories, enjoying every bit of it and wearing the crown of virtue.”

Menu knew that the journey was going to be tough but there were many things that she never anticipated.

“What surprised me the most about the journey to the finals was the amount of work and preparation that goes into it. I always thought that pageants were just about beauty and nothing more.

“Mrs South Africa is structured in such a way that even if you don’t make it to the finals the journey during the semi will change your life and your perspectives, you will be empowered.”

“Surprisingly this is my first pageant that I decided to enter. I have always done modeling and it is completely different from pageants believe it or not. I never really had the love for pageants, I entered Mrs South Africa because it’s not just a pageant it’s about women empowerment. What I don’t like about pageants is that some of them just don’t send out the right message out.”

Menu added that she expected to find women who were just focused on the crown but instead she found a sisterhood of sophisticated women.

Lastly, she wanted to thank everyone that made it possible for her to be in the finals.

“I have never felt so much love, I can proudly say I belong somewhere. Please continue with your support, kind messages and calls that I receive…it is amazing. The voting is still on until October and I need you to help me fly the flag high.”
