Pheto gets nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the movie A United Kingdom

Soweto-born international star Terry Pheto scooped a nomination for the British Independent Film Award.

She has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the movie A United Kingdom, a romantic true story of post-war Britain where the first president of Botswana, Sir Seretse Khama fell in love and married a British woman- Ruth Williams.

With lead actors David Oyelowo playing the role of Seretse Khama and Rosamund Pike who plays the role of Ruth Williams, the movie depicts Seretse who was a prince of the Botswana and was studying in London but went again convention and married Ruth, putting the imperial rule in question.

Terry Pheto plays the role of Seretse Khama’s sister- Naledi Khama in the movie.
