Three-day camp Free to cater for only father and sons.

The Adam’s night camp will be held at Kopanong Community Centre in Dobsonville on November 18 till the 20th.

Adam’s Night is a concept that explores various ways of bridging both social and family gabs with a special focus on fathers and sons through the facilitation of an introspective overnight camp for boys and men.

The father and son Camp is a brain child of Patrick Shai – the brothers for life ambassador and founder of Khuluma Ndoda men’s social movement against gender violence.

According to the press statement issued by Adam’s Night ambassador Lesego Tau, the prevalence of Nyaope is noticeably high in the greater Soweto Region –Meadowlands, Dobsonville, Bramfischer and Snake Park.

“Physical evidence which is what we see daily paints a horrifying narrative of the devastation of Nyaope in areas such as the Dobsonville Mall for instance.

“Here we see Nyaope victims parading as car-park-boys in an effort to support the drug addiction.”

The objective of the camp is to reflect on the prevalence and use of nyaope/drugs in and around Soweto.

  1. Get a better understanding of the factors at play.
  2. Identify the trends and early detection signs.
  3. Develop a family and communal response to Nyaope.
