A “Cook- A- Thon” is currently underway at the Westbury Youth Centre with students from the University of Johannesburg students and pupils from the centre participating.
Bree Munnik advice and referral officer at the centre said all food cooked will be distributed to the community, old age homes and crèches in the area.
“Our area is still poverty stricken and we feel it is our responsibility as a community organisation to assist where we can.
“With this project and thanks to our various sponsors, we are able to supply a lovely cooked meal to the disadvantaged and those in need,” said Munnik.
Some of the sponsors and donors include Edu- Loan, University of Johannesburg, Nedbank and Rak Events.
Food is expected to be distributed at 1pm respectively.
