Toyota’s Drumbeat music festival will be holding its sixth concert at the Soweto Theatre on August 27.

Mi Casa will be performing at this year’s DrumBeat festival presented by Toyota on August 27.

The SAMA nominated and winning hit house band will be the first band in the festival’s six-year history to return to the stage.

“They were so well received in 2015, which is why it just made sense to delight the audience once again and have them perform at this year’s festival,” said Thandi Mthethwa, Drum Magazine Editor.

This trio comprising of Mo-T, J’Something, and Dr. Duda, accumulated quite a following of fans over the years since they entered the industry since their entrance in 2010.

The release of their debut album Micasa Music quickly reached platinum status within six months.

Their second album Su Casa Mi Casa did better than first and reached double platinum status.

Mthethwa said, “Since 2010, South African house music group, Mi Casa, has skyrocketed to success, with their signature soulful sound and unparalleled creativity.

Their unique sound is hailed as being a truly global soulful house genre.

This accomplishment and much more has put Mi Casa on the music radar.”

The highly anticipated third album Home Sweet Home was released last year and has topped several charts.

There will be two stages at the festival which will bring live jazz, hip-hop, house and pop at the Soweto Theatre, where 5000 music lovers are expected to watch the sun set over Soweto.

Mi Casa will join Karabo, Sipho Hotstix Mabuza, Nathi, Kwesta, Nasty_C, Solly Mahlangu and Mobi Dixon on stage.
