The Apostolic Church gives back to Eldo’s on #WomensDay

Church women raising funds to feed the vulnerable in Eldorado park

The Apostolic Church in Eldos, Extension 3 celebrated Women’s Day with a true nurturing spirit.
Celebrations kicked off at the church in Alberta street with a fundraiser for vulnerable households which are constantly battling hunger.A pampering session was also held to spoil the mothers within the community as a thank you for the nurturing and caring of their families.
Deacon Sebastian Pietersen, and elder at the church said:

“We are aware that there are members of the congregation who constantly go without food, and as a responsible body within the community, we decided that this was a problem which needed to be addressed.”

The church hosted a fundraising event today to ensure that congregation members are not left out in the cold when there are events which require upfront fees to be paid.

“As a community, we see people in church without realising that there are basic needs such as a warm plate of food which most don’t have access to, ” said Pietersen.

It is for this reason that the church has chosen Women’s day to raise funds as they have already identified at-risk households which can benefit from charitable donations in the form of food hampers which are distributed.
In keeping with the nurturing, caring nature of women within our society, the church has embarked on an Each one Feed one campaign which aims to improve the lives of those whose are directly affected.
