Man found mutilated at the mountain
Dead man found dumped.
On Thursday (7th July), a male suspected to be aged between 40 to 50 years old was found dead at the Soweto Mountain of Hope (SOMOHO).
According to Moroka Police Station officer John Serala the deceased was discovered by a passer-by who then alerted other residents and called the police.
“The deceased was found at about 08:am by the passer-by who was crossing at the mountain to the other side of Chiawelo and then screamed for help.”
Serala said they suspect that the murder of the man is connected to witchcraft as some of his body parts were missing.
“Through our investigation, we found that the deceased eyes were cut off, ears, tongue, and his right index finger were also removed and the left-hand thumb was also removed.
“So a case of murder have been opened, it is suspected to be a muthi related case and we appeal to residents to assist in the help to find the wanted perpetrators.
“The deceased was wearing a yellow jacket, black jersey, beige long trouser, brown shoes with grey socks.”
