Police engage with residents about crime in Chiawelo

Police and residents unite

Moroka Police Station community sector crime forum embarked on a community meeting in Chiawelo Sector One to interact with residents about crimes happening in their areas.

The station spokesperson John Serala said that the gathering was also aimed at giving residents the feedback about crimes they reported and the progress they have made thus far.

“We have been receiving complaints from residents about different crimes affecting their daily lives and we wanted to give them feedback and assure them that we are working hard to help them fight such crimes here.

“We also had a chance to give residents tips on how to fight crimes such as house breakings, armed robbery, high jacking and how to safely use ATMs without falling into traps of criminals operating at outside ATMs.”

Serala said: “So far we are happy about the declining number of criminal activities in this sector and we hope the situation can be contained so that residents can lead a safe and happy lifestyle without being targeted by criminals.”
