Local shoeshine business going big

Small business working its way up the ladder.

 

Founder of Madinda Shoeshine Services, Lusanda Madinda is an ambitious businessperson from Gugulethu in Cape Town and currently resides in Dobsonville.

 

His enthusiasm and drive is the carrier behind the success venture of this commercial.

 

The business was founded last year with the purpose of closing the gap of unemployment and a fight against poverty, necessary and needed paradigm for those who are able in South Africa.

 

For many years, Madinda worked in the corporate world in the ICT Industry.

He was very successful in his field and spent many years in the IT support and various roles in software testing industry.

In 2013, Madinda ventured into the restaurant business by opening Madinda Café restaurant that served traditional food to the people of Olievenhoutbosch.

The devotion and enthusiasm given to his Madinda Shoeshine undertaking are creating yet another platform for job creation and skills development by helping poor people build a better life and prosper.

 

Madinda said: “Currently, we have two permanent stands into different buildings at Barclays in Absa (towers North and West in Johannesburg) where we offering as a standard service from Monday to Friday.

 

“The services on offer include an instant shoeshine service and a drop off shoeshine service for picking up at the end of the day.

 

“For the most part, these services will be provided by trained, previously disadvantaged individual from the townships, contributing to addressing the unemployment challenge,” he said.
