On National Youth Day, Chiawelo Youth Development Academy joined hands with their local ANCYL and embarked on a cleaning campaign in their areas.
Their main target area was the South Mountain Of Hope (SOMOHO) and other dirty areas and illegal dumping sites around Chiawelo.
Both parties were joined by their area councillor Meisie Maluleke.
CYDA spokesperson Itumeleng Moeng said: “As young people born and raised in Chiawelo, we saw a need to embark on this cleaning campaign and make sure that our area is clean. “From here we will focus on other areas and try to see what kind of development can we offer at such particular areas but our next move now is to go to schools and help out.”
