Children protest against abuse

Children in transit packed like sardines.

As part of child protection week, crèches in Dobsonville protested against the overloading of children in transit, child abuse and  children who are denied the right to education.

21 crèches took part.

Tiyimiseni Forum vice chairperson Sylvia Mosese said the aim of the protest was to raise awareness about child protection.

Mosese said children have a right to education and that parents should look after them always.

She said transporters should buy vehicles that have a bigger space to avoid exceeding the set number allocated for that vehicle.

“We are going to host workshops where we invite all people affected or concerned,” said Mosese.

Mosese said she believes that through the workshops solutions will be generated to help create safety around children.
