Police who have gone beyond the call of duty were honoured last Wednesday by management.
The Excellent Award Ceremony honoured police by giving them a certificate in the presence of ward councillors and community leaders.
“We had this ceremony to motivate, it is our token of appreciation to them” said Captain Phillemon Khorombi.
Awards were given to detectives who secured convictions and sentencing for serious crimes, through their investigations.
Officers from Crime Prevention were awarded for achieving their targets beyond what was expected and made arrests of value where drug dealers, hijackers and burglars were arrested.
In administration and logistics, officers were rewarded for making logistics run smoothly.
“The fleet manager had sleepless nights and worked after hours to make sure resources were available for the police.
“These are the officers who went the extra mile for service delivery,” Khorombi said.
