Beauty pageant at Pace Secondary

Zojazam Youth Skills Development Centre to host pageant.

Zojazam Youth Skills Development Centre will host a beauty pageant on April 5 and invites the youth to participate.

As a build up to the main event, the finalists for the pageant were presented to the public on February 22 and the non-profit organisation confirmed sponsorship from Food Lovers Market at Jabulani Mall.

Rickey Macedo, the store manager, says that they will be sponsoring the pageant with food and running costs.

Busisiwe Mmotla is the first princess from last year’s pageant and says she’s ambitious and optimistic that she will win the pageant this year.

“Being part of the Zojazam Skills Development Organisation has been a fruitful experience in both expressing myself and in learning skills in different aspects of life and this year is the chance for me to get the ultimate achievement.

“I feel as if succeeding in this is a first step to bigger things that will build my career even though my goals are slightly different to modelling,” Mmotla said.

Lindokuhle Mthize is a Grade 11 pupil at Pace Commercial Secondary School and says that she joined the organisation this year and that being part of the organisation keeps her busy and focused on the positive things in life, thanks to the motivation she gets from her peers in the organisation.

“Other than practicing how to express our beauty, we have a lot of open girl talk and through that we can share and advise each other with the guidance of older people who have been in similar situations as ours,” Mthize saids

The pageant is going to take place at the Pace Commercial Secondary School and for further information you can contact Themba Vilakazi on 076 206 8054 or Sibusiso Maisela on 078 128 5476.
