Dance explosion to be hosted in Jabavu

Hip hop, Pantsula, Sbhujwa and Kwasa dance to be dished out at Jabavu Youth Centre.

Stalented Youth Projects is a non profit organization that will be hosting the Iqhayiya Dance Explosion on March 8 at the Jabavu Youth Centre.

The event sponsored by the National Arts Council will be showcasing hip hop, Pantsula, Sbhujwa and Kwasa dance and invites all members of the community to come watch.

More than four different dance groups from around Soweto will be present on the day, including groups such as GM 5 and Afro- Tribal Dance group will be there.

According to the project organizer Mandla Shabangu, the aim of the showcase is to expose youth talent and keep the youth away from boredom which leads them to do all sorts of things such as hanging around on the streets.

“Through arts we are able to make a positive impact to both the youth and the community at large because everyone has an opportunity to participate in the project,” Shabangu said.

The events starts at 2.pm and for more information Shabangu can be reached on 071 906 3537.
