Breakfast celebrates Entrepreneurs

SAB Entrepreneur KickStart breakfast gives upcoming entrepreneur grants to support their businesses.

South African Breweries (SAB) hosted a business breakfast aimed at celebrating Top 18 National finalists that were chosen from the company’s KickStart programme at the World of Beer in Johannesburg Last Tuesday.

“The SAB KickStart programme that is in its 19th year continues to be our greatest contribution to supporting small enterprises and our flagship Enterprise Development programme.

“With the target being high impact businesses owned and managed by young people between the ages of 18 and 35, the programme’s robust SMME support offerings including training, business development support, mentorship, funding, access to markets and investment readiness.

“The programme is now deepening the awareness of entrepreneurship and anchoring the growth of South Africa’s youth start-up culture,” says Boipelo Nkadimeng, SAB Enterprise Development Manager.

The breakfast was filled with entrepreneurs whose businesses were deemed fit enough to be allocated grants.

Anda Maqanda, founder of the AM Group and 2013 overall winner of KickStart, who delivered keynote, address said: “The reason you are here, is because someone believed in your business.

You need to work harder now that the spotlight is on you and make these businesses work.”

The highest grant amount went to Millicent Nyembe who walked away with R200 000 towards the upgrading of her business.
