Gauteng Entrepreneurs shine

Gauteng 'treps' represent well at the KickStart breakfast.

South African Breweries (SAB) hosted a business breakfast aimed at celebrating the top 18 national finalists that were chosen from the company’s KickStart programme at the World of Beer in Johannesburg last Tuesday.

Gauteng entrepreneurs represented the province well as they were amongst the top 18 national winners.

Tshepo Marumule who runs an Enviroment and sustainability solutions company who received a grant of R100 000 towards the improvement of his company said: “He aims to use the money towards the development of his company.

“There is no new formula when one wants their business to succeed, you need to work harder than the average person and keep chasing your dreams.”

Marcia Mofokeng from AlurciaAluminium and Glass said she is going to buy new machinery that will assist in growing her business that she established in 2011.

“R130 000 is a lot of money and I am very grateful for the grant,” she said.

“I am going to invest in upgrading our health and safety equipment so that we always comply.

“It pays to have a plan and this R100 000 will go a long way in improving the businesses facilities,” said Lerato Radebe from Imagined Steel and Structural Engineering.

Leeko Nkala from Chilladiddo (Pty) Ltd said upcoming entrepreneurs need focus and work hard and smart.

Nkala said she is going to use the R130 000 grant she was given to open more doors for people in rural areas.
