Leaders run for community

“We needed to set a platform and are confident that others will follow,” - Councillor Peter Rafferty

Leaders accepted a challenge put out by Ashley Sauls.

He challenged leaders from all organisations to run for the greater good of the community.

Councillor Peter Rafferty, Cheryl Pillay from Comeback Mission, Marlon Louw principal of Eldorado Park Secondary School, Pastor Gary Lamont, Pastor Ian Posenby and Pastor Brian Brothers took part in the five km run from Bushkoppies.

“We achieved a goal to show that leaders can unite.

“We needed to set a platform and are confident that others will follow,” Rafferty said.

The idea was to symbolise leaders coming together Sauls said.

“We are focused on spreading good word and are looking forward to doing great things for Eldos,” Sauls said.

Pastors arrived after preaching at church.

“The race was fun,” Brothers said.

Some leaders said the five km was challenging but they want to show that they are committed in making the community a better place.

“I also took part to motivate the youth,” Louw said.

Leaders are looking forward to the next run.
