Basebeletsi Ba Jehova to hold concert

Local choir is climbing new heights and showing the community how it's done.

Basebeletsi ba Jehova from Zola North are hosting a concert ahead of launching their first long awaited album.

The choir started the year 2000 with only Eight members and has grown to become one of the most prominent choirs in deep Soweto.

Mbali Ncube, an executive member of the choir said that when the choir started all they ever aimed for is to have the greatest combination of voices there is in Soweto.

Sanele Makhaza says its been an interesting journey of discovery to find the choirs’ vocal identity but its has been a full filling experience.

According to Makhaza the choir of 25 is made up of very beautiful voices and conductor Makhaza thinks has what it takes to conquer the spiritual music world.

“I we see ourselves being like the Soweto Gospel Choir in the near future or even greater than that, and I know we are on our way to the top,” Makhaza said.

To promote the launch of the album, cd’s will be sold at their concert.

The choir has been trying different recording companies as a means of growing the choir and trying to get the choir to grow.

The concert will be on February Nine at Kushian church next to the Thabete shops in Zola North.
