Join the cast of Alice in Wonderland

The People’s Theatre is hosting an open audition call for actors for its upcoming production of ‘Alice in Wonderland. ‘

Fancy yourself as a theatre star? Would you like to be one of the characters in Alice in Wonderland? The Peoples Theatre is holding auditions for its first production of the year on Tuesday, 28th January 2014.

Join the rest of the cast of Lewis Carroll’s timeless classic about the adventures of a girl called Alice, who travels to a nonsensical dreamland called Wonderland. Here she meets crazy characters such as the White Rabbit the Dodo, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the hookah-smoking Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, March Hare, and the Queen and King of Hearts.

Alice in Wonderland boasts a large number of songs, including “How Do You Do and Shake Hands”, “We’ll Smoke the Monster Out”, “‘Twas Brillig” and “The Caucus Race”.

“We are looking for boys and girls between eight and 12 years old for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR,” said Jill Girard and Keith Smith, from the Peoples Theatre. “Actors need to have good singing voices. This is a open audition and hopeful candidates just need to arrive.”

Auditions will take place in the morning, and children’s auditions will take place in the afternoon.

Actors must be available to start rehearsing from the 10th of February. The show is due to open on 3rd March and run until 20th April 2014 with a possible two-week extension.

The Peoples Theatre is situated on the corner of Loveday and Hoofd streets in Braamfontein in Johannesburg. For more information phone 011 403 2340 or visit the website: www.peoplestheatre.co.za.
