Local business contribute to a worthy cause

Local businesses thrilled to be supporters of the Slaghuis street festival and fundraiser.

Slaghuis Movement will be celebrating their 10th anniversary at November 30.

Slaghuis will hold a street festival and a fundraiser to celebrate the anniversary. The community is urged to donate funds, clothing, toys and resources. The donations will be given to children at the Soweto Hospice.

Local businesses have pledged their help by providing the food, entertainment, tents and chairs.

The owner of Tshakudu Hire Peter Tshakudu is one of the local business owners who will help with tents and chairs.

Tshakudu who has been in business for more than 40 years, said that he is happy to support Slaghuis to celebrate their anniversary.

“Slaghuis is doing a wonderful thing for the community by sacrificing their time to help the hospice. I don’t know a lot of people who would be that unselfish,” he said.

Ntsitsi Fun Food will be providing the food for the anniversary.

Ntsitsi Motaung said that helping Slaghuis is their way of giving back to the community.

Moses Mazibuko better known as DJ Jack Dragos will be providing Slaghuis with the sound system.

“The community has made me who I am today and I want to give back to the community,” said DJ Jack Dragos.
