Orphans have fun

Mutle Ramaila and Lerato Phiri, with the support of residents, host a fun day for the orphans of The Carl Sithole Centre in Klipspruit

The Carl Sithole Centre in Klipspruit is an orphanage that caters for vulnerable children that have been affected by HIV/AIDS.

Last Saturday the centre saw Mutle Ramaila and Lerato Phiri, with the support of residents, host a fun day for the children.

According to Ramaila residents donated toys, clothes and books to make the day a success.

“The purpose of the day was for the children to enjoy themselves by forgetting their problems.

“We wanted to show them that there are people that care for them other than their caregivers,” Ramaila said.

He said Ouma Mathaha from Randfontein made the day more memorable by providing a jumping castle for the day.

“Jay Jay helped with the sound system and an upcoming Kwaito artist known as Mzimba gave a stellar performance,” he said.

“We promise that we will keep this relationship with the centre going.

“We want to make these fun days a regular fixture on the centre’s schedule,” says Phiri.

She thanked all those that played a part in making the day a success, especially Simangele Mzolo, Dumisani Hadebe and Lebogang Mabote who provided the children with party packs.

“Footprint Media Academy, thanks you for allowing your students to help out and thanks to everyone for contributing their time and effort in making the day a success,” she said.

Captain Tero, a representative of the centre, was overwhelmed with joy and urged everyone not to stop giving them love.
