Crowds of people showed their support for South Africans affected by breast cancer. at the Avon Justine iThemba Walkathon held last weekend

Last weekend saw the 5km and 8km Avon Justine iThemba Walkathon held in Johannesburg and crowds of people showing their support for South Africans affected by breast cancer.

The Avon Justine iThemba Walkathon is held annually to raise awareness around breast cancer, it is an exciting, fun-filled walk which saw 24 000 walkers participating in Cape Town and Johannesburg in 2012.

One in five women is diagnosed with breast cancer in South Africa according to the breast health foundation release.

Walkers were urged to dress their teams up in pink to honour survivors and raise breast cancer awareness.
