Boxing fans were treated to an extravaganza of top-class boxing at Emperor Palace, with the East Rand resort and casino’s Centre Court the venue for the Cracker Jack Box and Dine Tournament on Saturday evening and the Young Guns bill on Sunday afternoon.

In action on the undercard of Sunday’s bill was Germiston’s Keagan Mills who took on Jason Medi from the Corner Gym and Boxing Club in Lyndhurst.
The two went toe-to-toe in a six-round light heavyweight fight, which went the distance with Medi going home on an unanimous points decision.
Another pair that entertained the crowds were Germiston’s Bryan Thysse, who started his professional boxing career in fine style on Saturday evening.

He beat Benoni’s Michael Head on a split points decision in their four-round light heavyweight battle on the undercard of the Cracker Jack Box and Dine Tournament.
The two boxers put up such a great showing that promoter Rodney Berman promised them a bonus for their efforts.
