Not-so-messy victory for Kliptown United

Eldorado Park Local Football Association (ELFA).

Classic Sundays always draw a big crowd of soccer fanatics in Eldorado Park. Retired professional players and footballers from all age groups participate in the leagues across the Eldorado Park Local Football Association (ELFA).

In the ELFA U16 league, Ompolokile Goitsione’s Kliptown United went head-to-head with Griffith Davids’ Aces United.

The first half was dominated by Kliptown United as they had Aces United’s players on the scramble as with their skill on the pitch.

Tyron Msibi, who is also known as the Messi of his club, put his team in the lead and scored an easy goal after getting the ‘keeper to come off his line.

The second half kicked off with pressure on Aces as they had to get an equaliser to ease the pressure on the pitch. Kliptown United was relaxed in the second half but still applied pressure as one goal was not enough.

In the final five minutes of the game, Aces United conceded a corner kick, where Kliptown United’s very own Messi (Msibi) proved the ‘Corner is a goal’ dictum to be true as he showed off his ball skills.

He placed the corner at the tip of the quarter circle and with his left foot, curved the ball from the corner all the way into the top left corner of the goal post. Msibi concluded the match on a marvellous note, allowing his team to walk off the pitch with a 2-0 victory.

After he scored his brace in the match, the crowd went crazy, likening the promising 14-year-old to a young Lionel Messi.

Tyron Msibi (yellow and black) moves swiftly past Joshua Bengsha in the green strip.

Savio O’Brien (green) attempts to use his skill to pass defender, Ntuli Nkosi (black and yellow).
