The Johannesburg Netball Association (JNA) are holding trials at the Danie van Zyl netball field on August 12.
In April this year, a fun netball tournament was a held to revive netball in Region B.
“Netball is getting there, it just has to be promoted from the region part of it, hence we came here because what we have realised that there were teams from Region B playing in Johannesburg but unfortunately, from late last year Region B teams were dying so we not sure what’s happening, hence we brought the tournament here so that we revive netball in this region” said league coordinator Cecile Ramomyane.
This month all U19 netball teams, including schools in Region B are urged to attend trials on August 12.
One of the organisers of the trials, Nadeema Edwards said, “It should be teams already that will compete against each other where they will be selected from Gauteng and Johannesburg associations.”
The best performers will be selected to represent Region B at the Soncini Games on September 15 at the University of Johannesburg sports grounds.
Registrations will be at 9 am and kick off will be at 10 am on August 12.
“All schools are welcome and all clubs are welcome to join us for the day. All they need to have is a copy of their ID and a small ID photo,” said Edwards.
