Ke Yona Team search begins

The Ke Yona Team Search is a programme made to provide football stars .

A total of 48 youngsters underwent a Ke Yona Team Search, 30 were selected by talent scouts and will get a chance to play in the Premier Soccer League one day.

The search was conducted by former Bafana Bafana mentors, Shakes Mashaba and Owen Da Gama who teamed up with development experts, Mike “Sporo” Mangena and Khabo Zondo.

The talent search happens every year and the selected players team up and play against the Nedbank Cup champions, this year’s champs are Supersport United.

The award winning Nedbank Ke Yona Team Search has been well-received for its ability to search for young aspirant football players.

The campaign has successfully harvested a crop of fully-developed professional players such as graduates Ian Chikowha, Bongani Mbuli and Aubrey Modiba to name a few.

Modiba played for his side during the 2016/17 Nedbank Cup final as Supersport became the first club ever in the history of the competition to win it twice in row.

Chikohwa, on the other hand, found the back of the net last year playing against Amatsatsantsa in the same campaign and was appointed to the team captaincy..

The talent search is aimed at improving the players’ physical and mental well-being.

The Ke Yona Team Search is a programme made to provide football stars with the necessary tools to perform in a highly competitive industry. Selected players will get a chance to play in PSL teams.
