Skhosana upbeat ahead of junior masters

Wheelchair tennis player, Alwande Skhosana ready for the tennis competition

South African wheelchair tennis top junior Alwande Skhosana is upbeat about his chances in the upcoming Cruyff Foundation Junior Masters.

Skhosana was bubbling with confidence following day one of the preparatory camp ahead of the prestigious junior event, which starts on Thursday in Tarbes, France.

“I enjoyed the first day of the camp, It was exciting and gave me time to study my competitors.

“The competition will be tough but I have prepared very well for this event and I am going to fight for a top two finish,” said Skhosana.

The former world number two junior, currently ranked world number seven has vowed to play with passion in the masters event and hoping for better results this year. He finished in fourth position in 2016.

“I love wheelchair tennis and I will play with the passion I have for the sport.

“I will give it all that I have to bring better results home,” said Skhosana. The 16-year-old took up wheelchair tennis in 2012 and in just less than three years was ranked number two globally.
