Metropolitan brings mojo to Diepkloof half marathon

Diepkloof Half Marathon registration still open.

The 2015 Diepkloof Half Marathon, now part of the Metropolitan Mojo Series will takes place at the University of Johannesburg’s Soweto Campus on Sunday, October 25.

Held for the first time under the Metropolitan Mojo Series banner, this year the half marathon will form part of the broader 21 year anniversary celebrations of the Diepkloof Athletics Club (DAC), the organisers of this popular annual half marathon.

The Diepkloof Half Marathon will comprise of a 21km run, 10km run, 5km fun run as well as a 10 km walk with an estimated 3 000 entrants expected to take part and registrations are still open and runners have until 5.45am on October 25 to register for this historic race.

“This year’s half marathon promises to be the biggest yet, with registrations already surpassing last year’s figures with a few more days to go.

“Having Metropolitan on board has definitely enabled us to raise the profile of the race and we are still open for registration at Orlando Communal Hall, Sweatshop Fourways Mall, Sweatshop Dunkeld West as well as UJ Soweto Campus”, said Mathapelo Sehloho, chairperson of the Diepkloof Athletics Club.
