New date confirmed for Black label Cup

The Carling Black Label Cup match between Chiefs and Pirates will now be played on August 1.

Carling Black Label has confirmed the new date for the fifth edition of the Carling Black Label Cup set to take place at FNB Stadium.

The Soweto derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, which was originally scheduled for July 25 will now take place on August 1.

The game was rescheduled due to Pirates advancing to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Mighty Buccaneers went a step further going into the group stages after thrashing AS Kaloum 4-1 on Saturday, in the process winning the game 6-1 on aggregate.

Pirates is in Group B and has been drawn with AC Leopards from Congo, CS Sfaxien of Tunisia and Egyptian giants, Zamalek.

Match day one of the Confederations Cup group encounters will start on July 26.

It has been confirmed that tickets bought prior to the date change will remain valid and so far, over 35 000 tickets have been sold and fans are urged to continue purchasing their tickets available at Computicket stores nationwide.

The first edition of this exciting soccer extravaganza was won by Pirates on penalties.

The Orlando outfit won it again in 2012 on penalties after both teams playing to a 1-all draw.

Chiefs won the 2013 campaign 1-0 through the boot of Lehlohonolo Majoro, before Pirates claiming last year’s competition 6-5 on penalties.
