Titans to represent at Hockey Festival

Titans Hockey Team are proud to be representing their community at an annual hockey tournament.

Titans, a ladies and men’s hockey teams will be representing Eldorado Park and Gauteng in the annual KC March Hockey Festival to be held in East London over the Easter weekend.

The club started 13 years ago playing in the Eldorado Park Social Hockey League and later affiliated to the Southern Gauteng Hockey Association.

Formerly known as Brazilians, the club had a brand and logo change in 2013 and is now known as Titans Hockey Club.

“We are a very competitive team on the field and very dedicated to our goals,” Tommy Davids, coach and manager of the team said.

The Hockey Tournament moves around in different provinces across South Africa every year.

It was hosted in Johannesburg last year and this year Border Hockey Association is hosting the event.

“This has become a very prestigious event on the South African Hockey Associations (SAHA) calendar.

“We are physically and mentally prepared for the tournament,” Davids said.

This year the teams come from across South Africa and as far as Namibia and Titans are proud to be representing Gauteng and Eldorado Park.

The team set goals to make it to the medal position.

“Our aim is to do well in the tournament and end on medal position.

“It’s a very tough tournament, but I can proudly say that Team Titans will put up a great fight,” said Davids.

He says the effort, hard work and late night preparations by the team is appreciated.

He also thanks relatives for their support.

Titans will leave Eldorado Park on April 1 and return on April 7.

“We are ready to show that Hockey in Eldorado Park has always been a force to be reckoned with and as our club logo says Our Goal is to Deny Yours,” said Davids.
