Soweto to host Diski Challenge

Nike Training Centre will host the Multichoice Diski Challenge on February 28.

The final and the third place play-off of the much anticipated Multichoice Diski Challenge will be held on February 28 at the  Nike Football Training Centre in Klipspruit.

It will be for the third time Nike Centre hosting this event.

The venue hosted all eight matches of the second round in September, a month later it hosted the match between Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City.

The semifinals were hosted in Port Elizabeth’s Wolfson Stadium.

The final will see Mamelodi Sundowns and University of Pretoria taking each other on.

This comes after Sundowns beat Mpumalanga Black Aces 2-1 in the semifinals, thanks to a brace from Lebohang Mokoena.

University of Pretoria on the other hand booked their spot in the final after defeating SuperSport United 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out after both teams played to a 1-all draw in regulation time.

This challenge is organised for the Premier Soccer League (PSL) academy clubs and includes a round-robin league format and knockout phase for the 16 PSL teams.

It also equips players and gives them leadership development skills and exposure to careers in broadcasting by attending a one week career conference at the MultiChoice campus.
