Bafana squad named for Mandela Challenge

Will Ivory Coast stop the Bafana train?

Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba has named his squad for the upcoming Nelson Mandela Challenge fixture against Ivory Coast on November 30.

The match will take place at the Mbombela Stadium and kicks off at 3pm.

With the fixture being played outside of the FIFA international dates, Mashaba opted to choose a squad made entirely of locally based players and also opted to rest several players that have starred for South Africa during their successful AFCON 2015 qualification campaign.

Mashaba had to bring in some replacements following withdrawals of certain players.

Those brought in are: Brandon Petersen, Abbubakar Mobara (Ajax Cape Town); Chris Komane and Thami Sangweni (both Chippa United), Phumlani Ntshangase (Bidvest Wits), Motjeka Madisha (Mamelodi Sundowns) and Siphelele Luthuli (University of Pretoria).
